Which languages are spoken at the camp?
Hegoa is an International Camp with guests around the World, that's why English is the primary language at Hegoa. The team speaks French, English, and Spanish.
What are the check-in and check-out times?
Check-in begins at 2 PM, with flexibility throughout the day. We recommend arriving before 7:30 PM to participate in the welcome event. Tents check-out is by 11 AM on Saturdays, but you can enjoy the camp and beach until your departure.
Can I bring my dog?
Dogs are not allowed inside the tents due to hygiene conditions. However, they are welcome on the campsite only if you reserve a pitch, as long as they are kept on a leash.
How much do surfing lessons cost?
A week of surfing lessons costs €225 per person, including five 2-hour lessons, a theory session. Lessons are Monday through Friday.
Can I stay less than a week?
During both high and low seasons, if you book a pitch, you have the flexibility to book for a single night. However, for tent bookings, full-week reservations are required from Saturday to Saturday to ensure a structured experience for all guests, but this applies only in high season.
Can I park my van at the camp?
If you book a double or shared room, you will have access to parking spaces within the campsite, subject to availability. For pitches, a dedicated space will be reserved for you. Parking spaces are also available around the campsite.
How do I get to the camp?
In high season, we offer free pick-up if you arrive at the train stations of Saint-Jean-de-Luz, Ciboure or Guéthary. If you are arriving from a further location, please let us know in advance—an additional fee may apply depending on the distance. Alternatively, you can take a bus to the towns mentioned above.
What are the opening dates for 2025 ?
Our season runs from April 15th to October 28th, with bookings accepted from Saturday to Saturday in high season.
Are there other activities besides surfing?
In addition to surfing, we offer a variety of activities, including volleyball, football, pétanque, basketball, swimming, yoga, massages, ping-pong, spike ball, coastal hikes, and cultural tours.
What is the surrounding area like?
Our camp is just a 2-minute walk from the beach, bars, and restaurants, and only 10 minutes from the center of Saint-Jean-de-Luz. A dedicated bike lane, 'La Vélodyssée,' also runs nearby, offering a great way to explore the coast. Additionally, a supermarket is only 5 minutes away.
What is included in the camp package?
The package includes accommodation, breakfast, entertainment, surf gear, surf board, and access to all the facilities.
What is the typical age of guests?
While there is no strict age limit, our camp is ideal for adults and young travelers, particularly those in their mid-20s.
What does a typical day at the camp look like?
A day includes surfing lessons, a healthy breakfast, beach activities, yoga, surf skate, and evening entertainment such as live music or themed nights.
What skill level is required for surfing?
We welcome all skill levels, especially beginners, and our lessons have a maximum of 8 students per instructor.
Do I need to bring my own surfboard or wetsuit?
We provide all the necessary surfing equipment, including a variety of softboards and wetsuits in different sizes for the ones taking the surf packages. However, if you have your own gear, you're more than welcome to bring it!
What should I pack?
Pack swimwear, sunscreen, warm weather clothing, flip-flops, a towel, and casual wear for evenings. Don't forget to take a k-way 😉
